In Grandchildren, every memory is a montage of sound. The beat-driven, orchestral-pop epics on Grandchildren’s forthcoming album Everlasting play like an audio scrapbook of nostalgia and pop-culture inspired by memories from the songwriter’s life. Sentimental harmonies and globally sourced rhythms weave through every track, reflecting a history that is both chaotic and serene, but ultimately uplifting. These energies manifest in Grandchildren’s “larger-than-life” live performances, the six multi-instrumentalists swapping instruments in what reviewers have called “a choreographed musical chairs.”

Show starts at 7:00PM and tickets are $5 for Drexel students and $10 for guests. Please bring your Drexel ID to the show. 1 guest per Drexel ID. Flux is located on the lower level of the James E. Marks Intercultural Center – on the corner of 33rd and Chestnut Streets.

In early 2010, RJD2 dropped The Colossus – the first album to be released on his own label, RJ’s Electrical Connections. He has since reissued Your Face Or Your Knee Caps, The Horror, and Since We Last Spoke as well as a vinyl LP deluxe box set entitled 2002-2010 via his label. The innovative producer’s 10-year career reached a marked turning point in 2009 after he scored “A Beautiful Mine,” the popular theme to the hit AMC television series, Mad Men.

Mason is a young lyricist/songwriter from Philadelphia. He’s mastered a sound that seems to draw from nearly every genre and created a hip hop blend. His eclectic artistry shows a presence relative to may different classes, races and lifestyles.
